The latter is located on the hill and is rich in 13th century, baroque and Renaissance buildings. Of particular importance is the ancient Castle, a monument that represents the most significant historical legacy of the Middle Ages. Carovigno was founded in the 12th century and has been ever since undergone restructuring and changes brought about by the feudal families who ruled it. The castle has a triangular plan and is embellished by towers.Another trait peculiar to Carovigno is the presence of a numerous caves in the area surrounding it. |
